Background: Narcissus Silvercloud was born in 1898 to her mother Larissa and her father Matthieu. Their family had lived in Lons-le-Saunier in the East of France for Centuries.

Even as a child, Narcissus was a high spirited and adventurous child which her parents were very proud of. She was raised up with all the comforts of home and taught about her mermaid abilities by her parents starting from the early age of 12, in 1910, when she more easily understood what was expected of her as a mermaid and what she should expect.

She took very quickly to the teachings of her parents and would happily accompany them to the Lac d'Ilay especially during full moons.

After she mastered the basics of her abilities over the water and her transformation by the year 1925 she would often head off on her own to the lake to practice on her own.

Many full moon nights she could be found floating on the surface of the water watching the moon pass across the sky in her human as well as her mermaid form. She had no need to be out there for the full moon but felt more herself on the water than anywhere else in the world.

As she grew into womanhood, her haughtiness implanted in her by her parents tended to prevent her from having traditional friendships with the more gentle ladies in the area. Despite this, she would be seen with a group of girls walking with her. Some were known for the same snooty attitude that Narcissus bore and they fostered in each other. The rest of the girls tended to be those that lapped at their heels despite to do whatever it took to become part of their group.

The rumor mill worked viciously through the town with the way the girls followed her lead despite her oddly colored ocean blue hair. It was by this time in the year 1975 at the age of 38 that she had fully mastered the ability to use her voice to slowly draw such girls towards  her little group and her mind to influence the girls to do things for her in sparing amounts so as not to attract attention.

She would have very well continued on this path for the rest of her very long life as she enjoyed messing with the minds of those around her.

Yet, by the year 2010 at the age of 113, that she had gained a moderate amount of control over the weather and the ability to call out with her mind to speak and comfort other mermaids like herself. It was then that her parents deemed that before she settled too deeply into her life there that she might travel about wherever she chose.

She was content with her life in France but she did concede to her parents wishes and upon being given a fortune in which she might travel with she headed off to find herself adventure in America having explored the majority of Europe with her parents all ready.

Narcissus spent the following years moving about the country in areas with a ready supply of fresh water available to her. In the year 2013 when she had nearly explored the entirety of the continent, she decided her last stop would be the state of Louisiana which had fascinated her with the stories she had heard of their mystical past.

In her mind, she thought that this place rich with mystery and a variety of the French culture to which she wasn't as familiar with might be the very place to find more mermaids like herself.
